Remember the miniature Skylanders figures available exclusively via Frito Lay and GameStop promotions, the Sidekicks? The toys were cute, but in-game the characters would only follow along like a devoted puppy, unable to be controlled or do much of any good. They’re coming back as Skylanders Minis and aside from obvious height challenges, these little guys are every bit as useful as their larger counterparts.
Activision and Toys for Bob are launching a total of 16 Skylanders Minis figures this fall including a mix of previously released Sidekicks and all-new figures and characters. Each is fully playable with their own unique upgrade tree so you can have, for example, Tree Rex and his Minis version Barkley fighting side-by-side. I’ve also heard the Minis will be able to Trap villains like the Trap Masters, which would make them all the more desirable to own.
The 16 Skylanders Minis complete list and their larger counterparts are Whisper Elf (Stealth Elf), Weeruptor (Eruptor), Trigger Snappy (Trigger Happy), Thumpling (Thumpback), Terrabite (Terrafin), Spry (Spyro the Dragon), Small Fry (Fryno), Pet Vac (Jet Vac), Mini Jini (Ninjini), Hijinx (Hex), Gill Runt (Gill Grunt), Eye Small (Eye Brawl), Drobit (Drobot), Breeze (Whirlwind), Bop (Bash), and Barkley (Tree Rex).
The Skylanders Minis will be sold in two-packs at a cost of $13.99. Pairings have yet to be revealed.
Below you will find a group shot we’ve put together of all the Minis as well as a series of in-game screenshots from Skylanders Trap Team, available in stores October 5 in North America.
