Insomniac Games is getting this year’s E3 big reveals started early with a reimagined Ratchet & Clank video game coming exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation 4 next year.
Ratchet & Clank PS4 is based off the upcoming Ratchet & Clank cgi-animated film that itself is based off of the original Ratchet & Clank game for Sony’s PlayStation 2 set in the Solana galaxy with Chairman Drek as the main villain. Got it? You’ll forget about the confusing circular inspiration once you lay eyes on what Insomniac Games has done with their furry hero and his robotic companion.
Per Insomniac Games, Ratchet & Clank PS4 “re-imagines the characters’ origin stories and modernizes the original gameplay. Featuring all-new boss fights, several new planets, new flight sequences, and much more – with completely new visuals constructed to take advantage of the power of the PS4.”

As you can imagine Ratchet & Clank PS4 will be a popular playable title at E3 2015 next week, and direct-feed gameplay from presumably the playable demo level is already in the wild featuring roughly eight minutes of Ratchet & Clank PS4 gameplay footage. Gotta the pixel gun and old school feel it brings.
The Ratchet & Clank movie hits theaters on April 29, 2016, while the game is scheduled for release sometime in spring 2016. I’d bet we see Ratchet & Clank PS4 in stores by late March 2016.
