Now that Nintendo has formally announced a second wave of amiibo figures will be in stores before the end of the year and that wave will consist of six figures, the only unknowns left about these characters is what their packaging would look like and when a retailer would begin accepting pre-orders for them. Both of those questions have now been answered by online retailer Amazon.com.
Below you will find packaged images (click to enlarge at Amazon) for each of the six wave 2 amiibo figures: Luigi, Pit, Zelda, Little Mac, Diddy Kong, and Captain Falcon. This wave is half the size of the first wave coming to stores on November 21 alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the only game they will work with this year, but it’s arguably a stronger set of figures as a whole.
Nintendo promises the amiibo wave 2 figures will be available in stores sometime in December. A solid educated guess would be December 9, which leaves a few weeks after the first wave hits and enough time to hunt for them before Christmas arrives. We probably won’t catch wind of a precise wave 2 launch date for a few more weeks.
