Intellivision CEO/President Tommy Tallarico has offered up the latest update on the upcoming Amico video game console and one of the launch titles, Astrosmash, to help launch 2021 on a positive note.
In the 10+ minute video below, Tommy takes you through a work-in-progress version of the Amico boot-up sequence and main menu. Both are still in flux so expect something a little different on the final retail versions.
He then fires up Astrosmash and shares gameplay footage from several levels, now with finalized music in place. Take note of how the controller re-orientates itself on the fly for right-handed, left-handed, or old school Intellivision vertical grips.
This game is developed by Rogue Rocket and is one of six launch titles bundled with all versions of the console. Four of the other five launch titles are Skiing, Shark! Shark!, Cornhole, and Farkle. The final launch title has not yet been announced.
Speaking of the console, we’ve spotted the Intellivision Amico is officially up for pre-order at GameStop with an April 15th, 2021 arrival date. You can pre-order the standard Glacier White or Graphite Black version for $249.99, or the Limited Edition Galaxy Purple edition for $299.99. The later comes with a $25 Game Card.
