Sony has announced a March 5, 2013 release date for MLB 13 The Show, the only baseball game in town, on Playstation 3 and PS Vita.
Usually Sony compliments a new The Show release date announcement with the cover art debut. This year, Sony will be leaning on us to choose the athlete that will grace the cover. Starting sometime in January, Sony will run a Cover Campaign that lets us choose the cover player from a predetermined list. Some of the top names on that list are expected to be revealed soon.
New to The Show next year is a Playoff Mode that replicates the energy and excitement of a playoff game, a new Beginner Mode with instructional enhancements, as well as revamping of Franchise and Road to the Show modes.
The PS3 and PS Vita versions will be able to sync up saves as they did with this past year’s release. No word yet on whether Sony will offer a special bundle including both games.
