‘Madden NFL 18’ Cover Belongs to Tom Brady

The New England Patriots can now claim that their players have landed the Madden cover for past two consecutive years. Whether that’s a good thing or otherwise has yet to pay out.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will officially grace the Madden NFL 18 cover art. You can see the finalized Xbox One cover art with “G.O.A.T.” tagline across the top just below.

Last year Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was featured on the Madden cover art and suffered a season-ending injury in December. The “Madden Curse,” suggesting that whoever lands on the cover is doomed to failure or injury the following season, appears to be going strong.

Brady, however, doesn’t believe in the curse. Pushing the ripe age of 40, Brady believes he still has a lot left in the tank and isn’t ready to hand the reigns over to Tony Garoppolo just yet.

“I’m not one to believe in curses, so I’m ready to take the challenge head on like always! It doesn’t stand a chance!!!” – Tom Brady on being the Madden 18 cover athlete

The G.O.A.T. edition, sold separately from the standard edition for $79.99, gives players one of five G.O.A.T. players of their choice for Madden NFL 18 Ultimate Team, and other features yet to be announced. G.O.A.T. edition owners will also gain access to the game three days early on August 22nd.

Additional Madden NFL 18 details will roll out at E3 in mid-June. The full Madden NFL 18 game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 arrives in stores on August 25th.
