Madden NFL 15 has enlisted celebrities Kevin Hart and Dave Franco, along with several other forgettable cameos, for one of the more stereotypical and annoying video game commercials you’re likely to ever see.
According to the marketing folks at Electronic Arts, the arrival of “Madden Season” means that dudes have to act like douche bags, girls will dance and flash gang signs, and massive celebrities parties will rip and roar through the night. There’s a video game in the commercial somewhere, and if you manage to stick around for the final few seconds of the three-and-a-half minute ad, you might just see it.
Maybe you have to be in the right mood to enjoy what EA’s offering. Maybe if I were drunk then laughs would ensue. Reactions on YouTube are split right down the middle; it’s either pure genius or utter garbage. In my opinion, EA would have been better served taking the tens of thousands of dollars this ad more than likely cost and put it into actual in-game improvements. Then again, if it gets people talking, mission accomplished.
Madden NFL 15 puts defense first when it arrives in stores on August 26 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
