Let’s Hunt: Evolve Slated for October

Let's Hunt: Evolve Slated for OctoberDeveloper Turtle Rock Studio’s new four-on-one, or one-on-four monster hunting game, Evolve, will hit stores worldwide on October 21 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

2K Games made the announcement today along with details regarding pre-order bonuses and retailer-specific goodies. Players the reserve the game at GameStop will receive new skins and weapons like Markov’s Lightning Gun, Maggie’s Machine Pistol, Hank’s Laser Cutter, and Val’s Anti-Material Rifle. Post-launch will see the release of a Monster Expansion Pack that adds the Savage Goliath skin and a new monster character to hunt or hunt with.

Evolve tells the story of four hunters tasked with hunting and killing a large and very dangerous beast. Players can choose one of four hunter types — or the actual beast, and the game is focused solely on the hunt. The game is designed for multiplayer–much like Turtle Rock’s previous game franchise, the zombie-fest Left 4 Dead — but can be played solo with the game’s AI taking over the other roles.

Evolve will be fully playable at E3 2014 in Los Angeles, and I will have first impressions in my E3 coverage in early June.
