TT Games and WB Games have announced that Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is coming to just about every platform under the sun including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC this fall.
The post-completion scene of Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes suggested that Batman, Superman and his pals would face a new threat from outer space. That teaser turned out to be accurate as the Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham teaser trailer is set on the Watchtower with the Legion of Doom scheming to take it over. However, the core story of the game goes much further than that.
It turns out that Brainiac has been traveling from world to world and using the power of the Lantern Rings to shrink them down and add them to his collection. Batman and the Justice League will have to journey to Lantern Worlds to collect additional rings before Brainiac can get his hands on them.
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham wouldn’t be a proper Lego Batman game without scores of playable characters so look for more than 150 unique characters from the DC Comics universe in the game. This includes Killer Croc, Solomon Grundy, Brainiac, Batman and many new suits, and many more.
The twist in the game is that Brainiac’s mind control abilities and the Lantern Rings will add additional personality shifts to all the characters. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Locations confirmed to explores in Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham include the Batcave, Hall of Justice, and the Justice League Watchtower.
Some tweaked features include the ability to change character outfits without an activation pad, as well as challenges to partake in on the Bat Computer.
