Activision announced a new premium figure line for Skylanders Trap Team at Comic-Con this evening during the Skylanders panel, offering Portal Masters a chance to earn definitive and powerful editions of eight characters plucked from the roster lineup of Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure.
Dubbed Eon’s Elite and considered limited edition, these figures sport a metallic finish and golden base to differentiate them from standard Skylanders figures and were selected by Master Eon himself for “displaying undaunted courage and commitment to protecting all of Skylands.” The packaging will be premium foil with a lenticular background that can be removed and displayed with the figures.
In the game, Eon’s Elite figures will be roughly three times more powerful than their Series 1 counterparts, which will make them favorites among those Portal Masters who shell out the as-of-yet determined higher price for each figure. My guess is they will run somewhere between $15 and $20 each.
The first two premium Eon’s Elite figures for Skylanders Trap Team are Elite Spyro the Dragon and Elite Chop Chop. They are due in stores this fall, with six other figures scheduled to be released at a later date.
The only place to purchase Skylanders Trap Team Eon’s Elite figures in North America, Australia and New Zealand will be at GameStop and EB Games. Select retailers in Europe are still unknown at this time.
