Six new Star Wars Disney Infinity 3.0 Light FX figures are starting to arrive at select retail stores across North America. These figures represent the best and worst of what Disney Infinity has offered to date, and you’ll have to ultimately decide if they’re worth the money.
Comprising the Disney Infinity 3.0 Light FX figure line are Anakin, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Luke, Darth Vader, and Kanan from Star Wars Rebels. Noticeably absent, and I’m sure due to their wielding two lightsaber blades, are Ahsoka Tano and Darth Maul.
I’ve yet to see these figures in person but if they’re anything like the Skylanders LightCore figures then I already love them, apart from the fact that they only light up when placed on the game base. I wish all Toys to Life figures had some sort of light-up element.
The first strike against the Disney Infinity Light FX figures are their pose is the exact same as the non-lit versions, meaning if you already own those and want these then you’ll end up with a spare relegated to dust collector status.
Strike two is each of the six figures are exclusive to six retail outlets:
- Luke Skywalker: Walmart
- Yoda: Target
- Obi-Wan Kenobi: GameStop
- Darth Vader: Toys “R“ Us
- Anakin Skywalker: Best Buy
- Kanan Jarrus: Amazon
In other words, good luck collecting a full set without burning some gas, unless you’re willing to pay a little more for shipping to your home. Speaking of which, the retail price of the Disney Infinity Star Wars Light FX figures is $14.99 or a buck more than the traditional figures.
