Bungie and Activision were in a sharing frame of mind yesterday. They announced the Destiny Limited and Ghost Editions in keeping the tradition of extravagant sets for the hardcore fan and player. They also announced the Destiny Beta details that, as expected, favor Sony adopters over Microsoft.
The Destiny PS4 Beta will start at precisely 10am PST on Thursday, June 17. This day and time is also applicable for anyone who intends to play the Destiny Beta on PS3.
Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will have to wait almost a week longer to play the Destiny Beta. The Destiny Xbox One Beta and Xbox 360 Beta starts on Wednesday, July 23 at 10am PST.
Just because the Microsoft platforms trail Sony by six days doesn’t mean that PS4 and PS3 owners get that full six days work of Destiny Beta play. The Destiny Beta will be taken down on July 21-22 for maintenance, so technically Sony players receive four extra days.
How to Get Into the Destiny Beta
Activision and Bungie won’t be picking favorites when it comes to who has access to the Destiny Beta. Anyone who pre-orders Destiny in any configuration (standard, Limited Edition or Ghost Edition) will be able to register and receive an email two days later with instructions to join the Destiny Beta. It’s as easy as that.
When Will the Destiny Beta Close?
The Destiny Beta is being run on a tight schedule and it will wrap up at 11:59pm PST on Sunday, June 27. If you pre-order Destiny with the intention of playing the Beta, I’d recommend taking a day or two off work to maximize the experience.
Last but not least, here’s a Destiny Beta trailer to whet your appetite.
