BioShock Infinite Motorized Patriot Has Uncanny Resemblance

Irrational Games has launched a new BioShock Infinite video series called “Heave Hitters” that serves as an introduction to some of the more formidable foes you’ll encounter in the game later this year.

Kicking off the Heavy Hitters series is the Motorized Patriot. This bad boy hiding out in floating city of Columbia resembles a life-size George Washington doll with tattered American flags protruding from either side of his back. He has an emotionless stare and a relentless propensity for cranking his old-fashioned mini-gun until the target is destroyed. Irrational creative director Ken Levine refers to him as the “clockwork Terminator.”

Under his waxy “skin,” the Motorized Patriot is made of wood and, as the video introduction below shows, can be blown apart. Taking him head on probably isn’t the best idea, so the quick snippets of action presented show the protagonist taking high ground and attacking the Motorized Patriot from above.

We don’t get an idea of how long the fight with the Motorized Patriot will last in BioShock Infinite, nor do we know how many of them are wandering around Columbia. We do know he has friends and we’ll get to meet them in the next segment of Irrational’s Heavy Hitters video series.

BioShock Infinite will be unleashed on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC on October 16.
