If you’ve watched any of the 2008 NBA Playoffs on TNT, you’ve no doubt seen an ad promoting season two of the Bill Engvall show. One seems to run every commercial break so they’re impossible to miss, regular bathroom breaks or not.
In the spots, the original Blue Collar Comedy Tour member yells at his kids, gets lectured by his wife, and then yells at his kids some more. It’s dysfunctional family entertainment at its finest.
To celebrate the new season’s debut, Warner Home Video is issuing the first season May 20 on DVD. The two-disc set includes every episode spanning 176 minutes which is enough Engvall to keep any fan happy. If you’re lucky, you’ll walk away with one of three sets we’re giving away to the randomly selected trio that fills out an entry form below.
About The Bill Engvall Show: Set in a Denver suburb THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW stars comedian Bill Engvall (Blue Collar Comedy) as Bill Pearson a family counselor whose own family could maybe use a little dose of counseling. He works with dysfunctional families all day and comes home to what he sees as perfection but in reality they are somewhat absurd unpredictable and just as mixed up as any other family.
Nancy Travis (Becker) plays his witty and loving wife Susan who tries to keep the family in line. Bill and Susan keep busy raising their teenage daughter Lauren and sons Trent a sports and video game enthusiast and Bryan a musically talented neat freak with a pet snake. The kids love their parents but also know how to manipulate them. Also adding to the family dynamic is Bills mother an outrageous senior with the energy of a teenager. Comedic actors Tim Meadows and Steve Hytner round out the cast as Bill’s closest friends.
