The Twilight Saga: New Moon is poised to eradicate the competition at the box office this upcoming weekend much like Roland Emmerich’s 2012 did last weekend. Carefully predicting where New Moon’s final ticket sales will fall will likely determine this week’s winner in the Weekend Box Office Prophet game.
Taking on the power triumvirate of Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson is Sony’s kid friendly CGI animated adventure Planet 51, the heavy drama The Blind Side, and holdovers 2012 and A Christmas Carol. None are expected to eclipse New Moon but could benefit from sellout spillover traffic.
The objective of the Weekend Box Office Prophet game is twofold. After logging into the site, you will predict the weekend box office gross for The Twilight Saga: New Moon and four others and try to be the closest of everyone playing. If you are, then you hope the cumulative score of all the players is better on 3 or more movies than the Prophet. If so, a recently released DVD or Blu-ray Disc prize will be awarded.
