Fox’s X-Men: Days of Future Past will be one of the first big Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD releases later this summer and has already proven to be a strong pre-selling title at Amazon.com, persistently appearing in Amazon’s Blu-ray bestsellers list since it first became available for pre-order. Little is know about what bonus features Fox and director Bryan Singer intend to put on the home video release, but Singer was kind enough to spill the beans on one extra he’s personally involved with.
Singer took to Instragram just ahead of the July 4th holiday weekend to share an image of himself sitting in front of X-Men: Days of Future Past playing on a projection screen. The snapshot is specifically of Singer recording a director’s commentary track that will appear on the upcoming Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD versions of the film.
While it’s lovely to learn that there will be an X-Men: Days of Future Past Blu-ray Bryan Singer commentary track, fans are hoping that Fox and Singer include deleted scenes on the disc. We already know that Anna Paquin’s action sequence was removed from the final cut, and the home video release is the perfect opportunity to let fans see it for the first time.
The X-Men: Days of Future Past Blu-ray release date could be as early as mid-August given its mid-May cinematic release. I would expect to formally announce all the X-Men: Days of Future Past Blu-ray details at Comic-Con later this month.
