Kevin Costner in ‘Waterworld’ Coming to 4K Ultra HD and Steelbook This July

Universal Studios Home Entertainment is bringing Waterworld starring Kevin Costner to 4K Ultra HD for the first time on July 9th.

The Waterworld 4K presentation is the theatrical cut and will include DTS:X audio and HDR10.

The extended Waterworld cut with 40 additional minutes added on is on the inclusive Blu-ray along with a high definition version of the theatrical cut. A 4K version of the extended cut is not a part of this package.

Best Buy will be releasing a Waterworld 4K Steelbook on July 9th as well. Artwork for the steelbook packaging isn’t available quite yet.

Bonus features are virtually nonexistent as the film version(s) are apparently eating up all the disc space. If bonus features are a requirement then you’ll have to refer to the previous Blu-ray releases like the limited edition Arrow Blu-ray.
