There’s a lot of love out there right now for Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction. The fourth film in the cash cow franchise will crack $100 million during its opening weekend, and pre-orders for two different skus of the Blu-ray edition have both pushed their way into Amazon’s bestsellers list in short order.
Sometime on Friday is when online retailer Amazon.com began taking pre-orders for Transformers: Age of Extinction on Blu-ray to coincide with the film’s cinematic debut. Two different sets were made available: a traditional set and a limited edition set with an Optimus Prime and Grimlock statue.
By Sunday, both of these Transformers: Age of Extinction Blu-ray pre-order options had pushed aside other titles and worked their way into Amazon’s top 10 Blu-ray bestsellers list. At the time of this article, the Transformers: Age of Extinction Limited Edition Blu-ray set sat in the third position behind only 300: Rise of an Empire and The Lego Movie. The Transformers: Age of Extinction Blu-ray combo is in the sixth spot.
Expect both of these Transformers: Age of Extinction Blu-ray pre-orders to possibly rise even higher at Amazon as more moviegoers, fans and Blu-ray collectors realize the pre-order is already live.
Based on the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Blu-ray release date, expect the Transformers: Age of Extinction Blu-ray release date to fall in either late September or early October.
