First Three ‘Fast & Furious’ Movies Get 4K UHD Green Light

The Fast and the Furious franchise’s earlier films will start making their way to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on October 2nd courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Confirmed for a 4K UHD debut on that date are The Fast and the Furious (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006).

You’ll notice a franchise entry numbering system below on the bottom right corner of each case that follows a similar pattern as the sixth and seventh films released on 4K UHD early this year. The Fate of the Furious (2017) may eventually get a repackage with the new numbering system. As of now it’s the odd man out, while Fast & Furious (2009) and Fast Five (2011) remain without 4K releases.

Each of the first three Fast & Furious films on 4K UHD will include HDR10 and DTS:X audio. The inclusive legacy Blu-ray includes all the previously released bonus features, while the audio commentary has been ported over to the 4K disc.
