The 1980’s animated hit series Robotech has been remastered yet again, this time to stream on Funimation and come to Blu-ray in a lavish collector’s edition box set.
Robotech: The Complete Series in its new remastered form will premiere August 24th, 2021 on Funimation in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. It will include both movies: Robotech II: The Sentinels and Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.
On September 28th, 2021, Robotech: The Complete Series will make its way to Blu-ray with Dolby Digital audio. Packed into the retro collector’s edition box will be an exclusive Variant Transforming Robotech – Roy Fokker’s VF-1S; an exclusive Variant Action Figure – Roy Fokker in Pilot Uniform Variant Shade of Black; a series of Robotech-embroidered patches; and over 7 hours of bonus features.

If you don’t want the lavish box set and are only interested in the remastered high definition episodes, you can pre-order Robotech: The Macross Saga – Part 1 on Blu-ray and Digital at Amazon. This has the same September 28th, 2021 release date and will be joined by The Masters Saga and The New Generation at a later date.
As with the previously released DVD box, this new remastering of all 85 episodes and both movies will retain a classic “film grain” rather than digitally erase it.
