The Revenant Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Release Dates Revealed Following The Oscars (Updated)

Fox Home Entertainment celebrated The Revenant’s three Academy Award wins last night by announcing the film will first arrive on home video March 22nd on Digital HD, followed by a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD release on April 19th.

The Revenant finally scored Leonardo DiCaprio his first Best Actor award but came up short in the Best Picture category to Spotlight. The other two awards won were a second consecutive Best Director nod for Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and Best Cinematography for Emmanuel Lubezki.

Look for additional The Revenant Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray details to surface over the next couple weeks including bonus features and cover art.

In the meantime you can pre-order The Revenant at Amazon.com on Blu-ray. The Revenant 4K UHD Blu-ray pre-order is not yet live.

Update: Fox has made the full announcement for The Revenant on home video and I’ve got all the details to pass along. The Revenant audio will be presented on Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray and Digital HD in 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Bonus features are limited to “A World Unseen” – A Documentary of The Revenant. The inclusion of only one bonus feature tells me a more extensive edition is likely to be released at a much later date, though certainly not guaranteed.

Here’s a first look at The Revenant 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray cover art.
