Now that James Mangold’s Logan conquered its opening weekend at the box office with $88.4 million, Fox is already looking to capitalize on the film’s momentum in anticipation of its home video release a few months down the road.
Amazon.com has already begun taking Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD pre-orders for Logan starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Dafne Keen. The pre-orders confirm that yes, Fox will release Logan in 4K UHD to join fellow foul-mouthed Marvel superhero over at Fox, Deadpool, on the 4K format.
You can pre-order Logan on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital combo for $29.99 or pre-order Logan on 4K, Blu-ray and Digital combo for the same price. Note that both prices are likely to drop before the release date this summer and the lowest price is the price that will be charged.
Currently the Logan Blu-ray combo pack sits in the 21st position at Amazon with the 4K edition a few spots back at 28. I would expect Logan to continue to climb Amazon’s Blu-ray bestsellers chart as word spreads of the open pre-orders.
A good bet for Logan’s Blu-ray, DVD and 4K release date is either June 6th or June 13th, a little over three months after its theatrical window opened.
