One of the most secretive characters in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o), a 1,000+ year old smuggler whose extensive knowledge of the Force is suspect to say the least.
Maz was one of two all-digital characters in the film, the other being Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis). The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray bonus features offer a look inside what it took to bring Maz to life. Lupita Nyong’o herself shared a sneak peek at Maz’s bit online yesterday as part of Maz Monday, ready for you to watch below.
As a reminder, Star Wars: The Force Awakens first arrives on home video on Friday, April 1st as a Digital HD download. No, that’s not a joke.
The Blu-ray and DVD editions of Star Wars: The Force Awakens make their way to stores on Tuesday, April 5th, and are available to pre-order now at Amazon.com for a discounted price.
A Blu-ray 3D versions of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is confirmed by Disney and Lucasfilm for release later this year. There’s still no word on if/when a 4K UHD Blu-ray version will be made available.
