Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) headlines Luc Besson’s Lucy, a straight up action thriller about a woman whose mind is tapped to its utmost potential. The film is headed to Digital on January 6, 2015, with a Blu-ray and DVD release date set for two weeks later on January 20, 2015, courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
Lucy, which co-stars Morgan Freeman, was a late summer box office release on July 25 that exploded for $43.9 million on its opening weekend despite mixed reviews from critics. Overseas success is the reason for Lucy’s slow move to home video as the film’s worldwide box office gross earnings have crossed $443.5 million thanks to the allure of Mrs. Johansson and Luc Besson’s international draw.
