Lionsgate 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray

Lionsgate Home Entertainment is the latest studio to unveil their 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray launch titles and plans. Rather than beat around the bush, they’ve come out with pricing, tech specs, and a firm release date of when the first titles will arrive on store shelves.

Forming the Lionsgate 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray launch lineup with High Dynamic Range (HDR) imagery on supported TV sets are The Last Witch Hunter, Sicario, The Expendables 3, and Ender’s Game. Each title will be available to own starting March 1, 2016, the same day Samsung’s first 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player will arrive in stores.

Each title in this first Lionsgate wave are not created or priced equally. The Last Witch Hunter and Sicario carry an SRP of $42.99, while catalog titles Ender’s Game and The Expendables 3 are notably cheaper at $22.99.

Additionally, The Last Witch Hunter utilizes DTS:X Audio while the other three titles boast the next-generation audio competition, Dolby Atmos.

What these titles do share in common is the inclusion of Blu-ray and Digital HD versions of the film as well as all previously released bonus features from the currently available Blu-ray versions.
