In The Heart of the Sea Docks on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD This March, Digital in February

Ron Howard’s Moby Dick-inspired epic In The Heart of the Sea starring Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, along with Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, and Ben Whishaw will set sail for Digital HD on February 23rd, followed by a Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD release a couple weeks later on March 8th.

In The Heart of the Sea failed to strike a chord with critics or audiences at the box office this past fall. The film scored a 43 percent rotten rating at Rotten Tomatoes and grossed just over $90 million at the worldwide box office, short of the $100 million production budget that doesn’t include marketing costs.

Warner’s home video treatments of In The Heart of the Sea include a Blu-ray 3D combo pack with Blu-ray, DVD and Digital; a Blu-ray combo pack with DVD and Digital; and a standalone DVD release with a lone bonus featurette: Chase & Pollard: A Man of Means and A Man of Courage. All high-def versions will be presented in 1080p video and Dolby Atmos audio.

Here’s a rundown of the bonus features that the Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray combo packs will include:

  • Whale Tales: Melville’s Untold Story
  • The Hard Life of a Whaler
  • Chase & Pollard: A Man of Means and A Man of Courage
  • LIGHTNING STRIKES TWICE: The Real-Life Sequel to Moby Dick
  • Commanding the Heart of the Sea
  • Deleted and Extended Scenes
  • Ron Howard: Captain’s Log
