‘Godzilla (1998)’ Stomping to 4K Ultra HD This Summer

Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin’s 1998 take on Godzilla starring Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno is getting a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release on May 14th in conjunction with the theatrical arrival of Godzilla: King of the Monsters on May 31st.

The 4K Ultra HD debut of Godzilla (1998) will feature a new Dolby Atmos audio mix to capture the big guy’s roars and destruction in all their primal glory.

On the video side, Sony has gone back and remastered Godzilla in 4K from the original camera negative with HDR.

Other than that you can expect the same Blu-ray that’s been previously released as part of the combo pack, which includes the following bonus features:

  • Visual Effects Commentary
  • Behind the Scenes of Godzilla with Charles Caiman
  • All-Time Best-of Godzilla Fight Scenes
  • “Heroes” Music Video by The Wallflowers
