Tonight the back half of HBO’s Game of Thrones final season kicks off following a long night of mostly dark and a lot of terrors in the previous episode.
Even though only half of the season has aired thus far, fans are already locking in their pre-orders for Game of Thrones Season 8 on Blu-ray.
In fact, pre-orders are moving swiftly enough that they’ve reached the number six position on Amazon’s Blu-ray bestsellers chart that is updated hourly. It could very well move into the top five before the night is over.
Looking a little further down the list, the mega Game of Thrones The Complete Series Seasons 1-8 Blu-ray box set has climbed to the number 34 position despite its $250 pre-order price tag.
Both of these upcoming Game of Thrones home video releases, and their 4K Ultra HD counterparts, won’t be shipping for a few months. Clearly there’s a lot of early demand and it will be interesting to see if HBO is able to meet that demand as it builds up.
