Writer and director David Ayer’s World War II thriller Fury starring Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal and Jason Isaacs is still working its way through the box office, but that hasn’t stopped online retailer Amazon.com from quickly rushing to secure Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD pre-orders for a title that’s certain to become a hot seller given its explosive subject matter and star power.
Fury has blasted up just over $50 million in business at the domestic box office through 13 days of release and won its opening weekend of release. It’s still going strong so don’t expect Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to reveal the Fury Blu-ray, DVD and Digital release date for another 75 days or so.
Despite not arriving on home video until mid-January, 2015 at the earliest, Fury fans are locking in their pre-orders at a decent clip. The Blu-ray, DVD and Digital combo pack is favorably priced at $22.99 and has already cracked Amazon’s top 20 bestsellers chart for Blu-ray at position 16. It might have been higher and could still tick up a few more positions in the coming days and weeks.
I’ll have more information to share regarding the Fury Blu-ray, DVD and Digital release closer toward the end of the year.
