Universal’s hit film Fifty Shades of Grey should heat up the worldwide box office for the second straight weekend starting today. Fans of the book are flocking to see the film from director Sam Taylor-Johnson that stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, and chances are they’ll want to see it over and over again for many months to come.
With the sexy film still burning hot at cinemas and forefront on the fans’ minds, Universal has teamed up with online retailer Amazon.com to offer an early pre-order for the Fifty Shades of Grey DVD and Blu-ray release. Keep in mind that neither of these disc-based versions of the film are expected to arrive in stores until mid-May at the earliest, but pre-orders are the easiest way to lock in a copy and secure the lowest price at Amazon will offer it for between now and its release.
The popularity of Fifty Shades of Grey has already pushed the DVD edition into the 11th spot on Amazon’s bestselling titles in movies and TV. This includes video on demand and Blu-ray as well, so clearly fans are starting to gobble up a Fifty Shades of Grey DVD pre-order as they realize it exists.
