The J.J. Abrams-produced Cloverfield films are making their 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray debut on January 23rd in celebration of the original film’s 10th anniversary and this spring’s third entry in the ongoing anthology series.
The original Cloverfield was directed by Matt Reeves and shrouded in secrecy until its release. Its spiritual sequel from director Dan Trachtenberg, 10 Cloverfield Lane, didn’t directly connect with the original but carried forth its blend of science fiction and terror.
Both Cloverfield 4K UHD releases feature Dolby Atmos audio and will include all bonus features found on the previously released Blu-ray editions. In addition, director commentaries have been carried forward onto the 4K versions so you don’t have to rely solely on the Blu-ray to hear those.
