Blue Underground quickly emerged as an industry leader in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation in 2020. Next up on the studio’s release slate is the time travel cult classic The Final Countdown, officially confirmed for an April 27th, 2021 release date.
If The Final Countdown looks like Vigilante and other Blue Underground 4K titles then expect to be blown away. It was scanned in 4K 16-bit from the original 35mm camera negative, with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. In other words: nothing but the best.
Even the inclusive Blu-ray has been remastered with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio options.
In addition to the soundtrack, owners of this upcoming release will get a collectible booklet featuring The Zero Pilot Journal. A reversible sleeve and 3D lenticular slipcover will be included in the first pressing only.
Plus, a third disc is an audio CD of the film’s soundtrack by John Scott.
