Tom Hanks made the saying, “There’s no crying in baseball!” famous with his crusty manager role in Penny Marshall’s A League of Their Own.
The film celebrating the first professional women’s baseball league has a celebration of its own this year: a 25th anniversary. To commemorate the fun sports flick co-starring Geena Davis and Madonna alongside Hanks, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is bringing A League of Their Own to Blu-ray and Digital HD for the first time on April 18th.
New for this anniversary release is an all-new featurette titled ‘Bentonville, Baseball & The Enduring Legacy of A League of Their Own.’ Geena Davis and others are interviewed in this trip to the annual softball game at the Bentonville Film Festival.
The other legacy bonus features included are:
- 15 deleted scenes
- Nine-part documentary featuring interviews with the cast and filmmakers
- Madonna’s “This Used To Be My Playground” music video
- Filmmaker commentary
- Theatrical trailer
