There’s good news and bad news as far as the now officially announced Guardians of the Galaxy Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD is concerned, which now has a confirmed December 9 release date with the Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere dropping three weeks earlier on November 18.
The good news is Marvel is including an Avengers: Age of Ultron sneak peek on all home video versions of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. I haven’t been able to track down how long this sneak peek is but will continue to do so. Take note that the quickest way to see this is Avengers 2 sneak peek to purchase the Digital HD or Disney Movies Anywhere version on November 18.
Not so great is there’s no new Marvel One-Shot on Guardians of the Galaxy, marking the second consecutive film that Marvel has not offered one on home video following Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Are the One-Shots done? It sure seems like it with Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and the upcoming Agent Carter TV series taking over the short-form format.
Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray combo will be presented in 2.4:1 1080p video and 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Here’s what I believe to be a complete list of bonus features, though these could change between now and release:
- Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes
- Dancing Guard
- Fake Laugh
- No, I’m the Stupid One
- Sisterly Love
- The Kyln Will Have to Do
- Making-of Featurettes
- Guide to the Galaxy with James Gunn
- The Intergalactic Visual Effects
- Exclusive Look at Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Gag Reel
- Audio Commentary
