Fox Home Entertainment has announced an October 7 release date for the FX horror series American Horror Story: Coven, otherwise known as American Horror Story Season 3. The release date falls only eight days before the premiere of American Horror Story: Freak Show.
Ryan Murphy taps into witchcraft for American Horror Story: Coven with his powerful female leads of Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett driving the madness. The season is often referred to as a dark version of Harry Potter where young witches at Miss Robichaux’s Academy come under fire from evil forces brewing up nefarious plans all around them. Co-starring in Season 3 are Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe and Frances Conroy.
Fox will present all 13 episodes of American Horror Story: Coven in 1.78:1 1080p video on Blu-ray. Bonus features are limited to the following:
- Zombie Halloween
- Enter the Coven
- Meet Ms. Nola
Note that American Horror Story: Coven on Blu-ray is not a combo pack release. The DVD and Digital HD versions are available separately on the same date.
