Bib Fortuna, Chewbacca, Emperor Palpatine, Paploo, and the army builder-friendly Stormtrooper are all being re-released in Hasbro’s Star Wars: The Black Series 6″ action figure line in celebration of Return of the Jedi’s 40th anniversary next year. Pre-orders for all five go live on Wednesday, November 30 at 1 pm ET.

Each of these five Return of the Jedi Black Series figures will come packaged on a retro Kenner-inspired blister card for the first time, just like the first wave of ROTJ Black Series Anniversary figures.
The Paploo, Emperor Palpatine, and the Stormtrooper figures are virtually identical to their previous releases with maybe tiny paint improvements where Hasbro saw fit to make them.
In the case of Paploo, this is the first time the Ewok has been made available as a standalone release, and he pays homage to the original Power of the Force release by utilizing the incorrect card art vs the figure.
Bib Fortuna has had the blue paint highlights on his lekku dialed back and more evenly spread out. The original release was too blue compared to the character’s on-screen look.
Chewbacca got not only a new paint job, but a new ROTJ-accurate head and chain from when he was a prisoner at Jabba’s palace. The card art used is the alternate Chewbacca picture from Endor released during the original Kenner Return of the Jedi line in 1983.
Each Star Wars: The Black Series figure in this ROTJ Anniversary wave is priced at $24.99 each and due to arrive in summer 2023.
