This year marks the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm so product partners are celebrating the milestone with throwback offerings.
Hasbro, for example, have just revealed the Star Wars Black Series retro Kenner action figure line — an Amazon exclusive. These 6″ figures are modeled after the vintage Kenner 3-3/4″ action figures, from their paint colors through to their accessories.
Ben “Obi-Wan” Kenobi, for example, includes the vinyl cape anyone who had Star Wars figures as a kid will instantly recognize. There’s no slide out lightsaber up his forearm; some things are just a little too retro and make no sense.

The Jawa figure includes the dark brown robe with sculpted light brown roles underneath. With these guys it’s always hard to buy just one.

And Greedo sports the lime green paint job that stands out in the action figure aisle, reminding us of a time when he actually did shoot first.

These three figures are all on Star Wars: A New Hope style vintage Kenner card backs that look like they did over 40 years ago. Additional waves for The Empire Strikes Back and possibly Return of the Jedi are expected to arrive later this year.
