Hasbro’s nearly two-hour G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero 40th Anniversary celebration live stream ended with a surprise announcement. Megatron and Baroness had teamed up to create the mash-up G.I. Joe Megatron H.I.S.S. (HISS) Tank Transformer, and it’s already available for pre-order.

At first glance in vehicle mode the HISS Tank looks like another version of the Cobra vehicle, only with a giant cannon on top of its turret. It turns out that canon belongs to Megatron, and he aims to use it.
When transformed into Megatron and standing 10.5″ tall, the HISS Tank’s rear panel comes off and can be used as a shield. Megatron’s cannon naturally fits atop his opposite arm.
The GI Joe Megagron HISS Tank mash-up set also includes a new O-ring Baroness figure that comes on a Retro GI Joe card back. Hasbro has not clarified whether this figure is exclusive to this set so assume it is in at least this deco, unless Hasbro states otherwise.
Baroness fits into both the HISS Tank cockpit and the gunner’s seat, the latter of which is perfectly set behind Megatron’s head when in robot mode.
The packaging pulls apart at the middle with an inner box housing the toys. Note that the package is plastic-free, a new initiative that Hasbro will be slowly rolling out over the next few years.

A second GI Joe Transformers mash-up toy is widely expected to be announced later this year, and hints on the packaging suggest it could be Bumblebee.
