Friday (tomorrow) is the launch date for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the latest installment in the long-running franchise making its first foray into the streets of London, England during the Industrial Revolution. Early reviews suggests that Ubisoft has a potential hit on their hands and that’s no easy feat for a series that has fallen into the annual new entry cycle.
Part of the game’s narrative requires players as assassin Jacob Frye or his twin sister, Eve, to assemble a gang known as the Rooks from the ranks of London’s oppressed underclass. Game Director Scott Phillips narrates the intricacies of building up a successful and influential gang over the course of the game in the video below.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is being released exclusively on Xbox One, PS4 and the PC. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners are out of luck as Ubisoft chose not to dumb down their vision in order to appease the technical constraints of last-generation consoles.
