NBC’s Heroes came onto the pop culture scene a little too early to take advantage of social media buzz or the Blu-ray home video format. With the network and creator Tim Kring bringing the superhero series back this fall under the moniker Heroes Reborn, Universal Studios Home Entertainment is finally delivering the original Heroes to Blu-ray in North America for the first time.
We have confirmed that Heroes: The Complete Series is coming to both Blu-ray (for the first time) and DVD (a re-release) on October 13, 2015. This is a few weeks after the Heroes Reborn premiere date on September 25, so you won’t be able to catch up on the first four seasons on Blu-ray before Noah Bennet and a new group of super-powered individuals grace the small screen.
Heroes starred an ensemble cast including Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Masi Oka, Sendhil Ramamurthy and James Kyson Lee. The first season was a smash success that fueled watercooler chatter around the globe, though the series took a creative and ratings hit in each subsequent season until it was ultimately canceled by NBC after Season 4.
Other than an SRP of $74.98 and the official key art above, that’s all the information I have on Heroes: The Complete Series on Blu-ray at this time. Additional information will be passed along as it becomes available.
In the meantime, here’s the Heroes Reborn reboot/sequel trailer from Comic-Con earlier this month to whet your appetite.
