Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and those slick Penguins of Madagascar have found a way to make themselves a part of it. Sort of.
With their first feature film as the stars under their fur belts, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private are aiming to be the feature attraction this Friday and Saturday for parents who leave the kids with babysitters as they go out to celebrate V-Day. Their brilliantly concocted plan is to skip the traditional Tuesday home video release date and make the Dreamworks animated feature Penguins of Madagascar available on Digital HD for streaming via Amazon.com, iTunes and other outlets beginning this Friday.
Oh those Penguins are clever.
In all seriousness, Penguins of Madagascar has gotten rave reviews for being a straight up funny spy flick with puns out the wazoo. Fridays are typically reserved for mega-hits like The Hunger Games, but Fox and Dreamworks are rolling the dice with a family as children around the world will be in need of a babysitter, who in turn will be in need of digital entertainment to keep them occupied and quiet. Clever.
