The CW continues to cast juicy roles in Arrow Season 3 and the latest will add a Manhunter to the growing ensemble when David Cubitt takes on the role of Mark Shaw per The Hollywood Reporter. Cubitt becomes the seventh actor cast to a new named role in the upcoming series based on the Green Arrow DC Comics run.
Arrow had been teasing Manhunter last season when a district attorney named Kate Spencer, who in the comics was one of several people to become Manhunter, recurred until she was killed in the Season 2 finale. Shaw is actually expected to be known as Manhunter and will make his first guest appearance in the third episode of Season 3.
In the Arrow-verse, Shaw will be introduced as an A.R.G.U.S. operative who crosses paths with Diggle. This connection reverberates the comics where Shaw is connected to the Suicide Squad, an internal strike force comprised of villains hidden deep within A.R.G.U.S.
Not including Ra’s al Ghul, who is confirmed to finally appear in Season 3 via a Comic-Con teaser and is considered the big bad of Season 3, Cubitt joins a growing list of new cast members joining the Arrow team. They include Karl Yune as Maseo, Devon Aoki as Katana, Charlotte Ross as Felicity’s mother, Peter Stormare as the new Count Vertigo, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, and J.R. Ramirez as Ted Grant/Wildcat.
Season 3 of Arrow premieres October 8 on The CW.
