Major League Baseball announced today that the popular MLB.TV app would be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 before Opening Day, 2014.
The MLB.TV app allows fans to watch a full season of MLB baseball games in 720p HD for an annual fee of $129.99. The app will be full-featured, allowing for DVR-like control, as well as choice of broadcast teams, in-game, real-time stats, and so much more.
MLB’s archaic blackout rules still apply here, so be warned, and MLB.TV cannot contractually show any nationally televised Fox Network games, which are usually played on Saturday afternoons.
MLB.TV also comes with free MLB At Bat, the iOS and Android app that broadcasts games via live streaming on tablets and smartphones. At Bat will begin to broadcast games starting in Spring Training, which opens up at the end of February.
