June is a big month for TV junkies as all the big summer shows typically have their premieres. For the cable channel A&E, they’re coming off of a second season of Bates Motel not too long ago and transitioning into the third season of the modern western, Longmire, that begins this Monday night.
When Longmire Season 2 left off, all hell had broken loose in the world of Sheriff Walt Longmire. Expect Season 3 to pick up where Season 2 left off when we watch the Longmire Season 3 premiere online free live streaming on A&E tonight. Spoilers from Season 2 are present from this point forward.
The big moment in last season’s finale was the shooting of deputy Branch. Make that the unknown shooting, as Longmire is still trying to figure out who the trigger man was and dealing with the shooting’s aftermath as Season 3 gets underway.
Longmire is also grappling with his friend Henry’s arrest and ongoing incarceration for the murder of the man who killed Walt’s wife. It’s hard to imagine Henry staying in prison much longer; but then again, Tyrion Lannister has been behind bars for nearly an entire season of Game of Thrones.
Robert Taylor, Lou Diamond Phillips, Katee Sackoff, Cassidy Freeman and Baily Chase are all set to return tonight and, with any luck, some of these lingering questions and issues will be at least partially resolved. With a full season ahead, expect new questions to arise.
For Longmire Season 3, A&E has ordered to a total of 10 episodes after Season 2 was bumped up to 13 episodes. The official synopsis for tonight’s premiere reads, “Walt deals with the aftermath of Henry’s arrest and Branch’s shooting. The search for the shooter, however, is complicated by Branch’s insistence that it was someone known to be already dead.”
