Fox Home Entertainment took a big step today toward embracing digital HD download of feature length films by making available A Good Day to Die Hard starring Bruce Willis a full three weeks before the Blu-ray and DVD disc-based versions are available to purchase.
The upside to the early Digital HD is you can stream and watch the movie in the comfort of your own home or on a mobile device faster than waiting for the Blu-ray or DVD. The downside is you don’t get any of the bonus features.
Amazon.com is offering the Digital HD version of A Good Day to Die Hard for $14.99. It can be played back on a Kindle Fire HD, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Roku, TiVO, iPad and other tablets, and Internet connected TVs with access to Amazon’s app.
