Last night I ran a story indicating Warner Home Video had revealed a Monday, December 3 release date for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises on Blu-ray and DVD. Releasing the blockbuster on a Monday seemed weird, but the date came directly from Warner’s own YouTube channel so it was a no-brainer to run with.
Today that release date was removed from their YouTube page and Warner isn’t saying exactly whether it was incorrect or someone slipped up and prematurely shared it. My guess would be that December 3 is, in fact, the correct date and some poor guy or gal slipped up. Even so, Warner could just as easily have no trouble throwing retailers and everyone else a curve and moving the date a few days in either direction.
For now consider December 3 the “tentative” release date for The Dark Knight Rises on Blu-ray and DVD. More to come as this release fiasco hopefully wraps up.
