The Dark Knight Rises is just around the corner now meaning we’re just a handful of hours away from experiencing how Christopher Nolan wraps up his Batman trilogy.
Late last week, Warner Bros. dropped a collection of new The Dark Knight Rises images on the web. They included some rare publicity appearances by secondary characters including Deputy Commissioner Foley (Matthew Modine), Alfred (Michael Caine), Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard) and Officer John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt).
Another round of images has hit the web that are noticeably villain-absent i.e. no Bane (Tom Hardy), but do include a couple shots of Batman (Christian Bale) and Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) in her daytime clothes. Some of the images were previously released, but haven’t appeared in their full high resolution glory until now.
Especially cool is the final shot of the Bat aircraft chasing Bane’s Tumblers through the streets of Gotham (i.e. Pittsburgh, PA). We got a glimpse of this scene from the trailers and it looks just as majestic in still image form.

The Dark Knight Rises begins its midnight assault on theaters and IMAX in roughly 24 hours. Expect some box office records to be tested.
