The truth is out in Dexter: Season 7 and no doubt it will hurt Deb as she tries to come to terms with her brother’s “condition” while struggling to deal with her newfound feelings for him.
Leave it to Showtime to deliver the first official footage from Dexter: Season 7 in a way that will make your head spin. Rather than deliver a traditional trailer, Showtime has spit out a collage of footage that must have been edited by The Flash. The great thing about Internet videos is the pause button so let’s dissect some of what jumps out.
As expected, there are several scenes of Dexter and Deb, both on the job and at home. Deb looks a little uneasy watching Dexter tear into some spaghetti at her new pad. It looks like, however, she conspired with Dexter to burn down the Doomsday Killer church from the previous season in order to cover up Dexter’s dirty work.
There are also some flashbacks of Dexter and Deb as kids. I fully expect these to play out well into this season and possible into the next and final one. Don’t count out Louis Greene, either, as he’s still hanging around and could prove a perpetual thorn in Dexter’s side.
My favorite shot is of Deb digging through the old files to presumably continue her earlier abandoned research into Dexter’s past.
Joining the cast in Dexter: Season 7 are Ray Stevenson as an Eastern European crime ring lord who comes to Miami in search for answers in the death of one of his associates (most likely offed by Dexter); Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah McKay, a woman with a “dangerous path” who gets tangled up with Miami Metro; and Jason Gedrick as the owner of a gentleman’s club that will see Ray Stevenson frequent.
Dexter: Season 7 kicks off its premiere episode on Sunday, September 30 on Showtime.
