Halo 4 made a splash courtesy of Conan O’Brien earlier this evening if questionable humor is your thing. If you wanted to catch a glimpse of the return of Master Chief, a roughly 9-minute segment delivered approximately 9 seconds worth of multiplayer gameplay footage.
The segment begins with Conan sitting down with Halo franchise showrunner Frank O’Connor and a young lady by the name of Kiki Wolfkill. It looks like Frank and Kiki are being serious about Conan appearing in the game as a soldier who stands around some crates in a docking bay. Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t. It’s impossible to tell, but it would be hilarious if the heinous Conan character mockup the talk show host brought along was an unlockable skin.
Conan then heads to a conference room and the sound recording booth with sidekick Andy Richter in tow as a voice specialist. From this point on they completely goof off, slowly and painfully killing the potential for new Halo 4 goodies as each minute passes.
Then, like a shining beacon in a relentless storm, around 9 seconds of Halo 4 multiplayer gameplay run right at the segment’s conclusion. It’s not much to be honest, but does show a well-lit metallic environment and what appears to be better shading than previous Halo entries.
As announced earlier today, Halo 4 will launch exclusively on Xbox 360 beginning November 6.
