Game Informer has revealed their March 2012 cover featuring The Last of Us, a Sony Playstation 3 exclusive by Uncharted developers Naughty Dog that debuted during the 2011 Spike VGAs last December via an incredible teaser trailer.
The new issue should offer some new details about the upcoming apocalyptic game based on their time watching portions of it being played. We’ll know more about what those details are when the issue hits newsstands beginning next week.
In the meantime, Game Informer will publish three all-new in-game The Last of Us screenshots at 4pm PST this evening. Thus far no one has seen what the actual gameplay looks like and these screens might break that silence. The Last of Us teaser trailer, while created exclusively with the in-game engine, did not include any gameplay.
If you take a look at the Game Informer front and back cover below, it looks like the two survivors will be going up against some armed enemies as well as the mutated ones seen in the teaser trailer.
The Last of Us is due to arrive on Playstation 3 in either late 2012 or early next year.
